Now available from ICAN’s European warehouse, with speedy delivery, the Aero 40 wheelset has a small mass to please a climber â€?a featherweight 1314 grammes. These wheels were designed and constructed purely for racing, and are officially welcome in cycling events run under UCI jurisdiction. The cloth used to sculpt the all-carbon rims combines two excellent grades from a world-renowned producer –Toray T700 and T800. The 40mm-deep rim has a wind-cheating aerodynamic section which speeds up the airflow coming off the tyre. Combined with the 25mm-wide rim into a teardrop cross section, it is responsible for a useful reduction in aerodynamic drag. Riders may fit clinchers or tubeless covers, with cross sections ranging from the popular 25mm or 28mm â€?right up to 40mm, for fine control and road holding on dangerous descents or gravel events. And speaking of descents, the sturdy 3k twill braking surface can withstand high temperatures. Here’s another safety factor â€?this rugged-but-light wheelset is guaranteed for riders who weigh up to 100 kgms. The design makes no compromises when it comes to spokes and hubs. The legendary aero-section Sapim CX-Ray spokes are butted, so they are stiffer than titanium and weigh even less. They connect to the Shimano-ready R10 hubs radially, 18 in front and 24 rear. And there’s a stress-beating patented mixed lacing pattern on the rear wheel.
