AERO 40 DT240s/350s

Our new for 2019 Aero range is excellent. It gets even better though when you can fit your choice of DT Swiss hubs to our fantastic deep section carbon fiber rim. Our 40mm deep option is the perfect aero rim for an all-around style of rider. You’ll never be hampered by crosswinds or hills but have a great little boost on the flat.
Our Aero range takes our Fast and Light rim and makes it better, mainly by being even lighter. We have kept the rest of the great qualities from our FL series though. You still get a wide tubeless ready aero rim that is strong and stiff. Your tire will sit nicely in our rim bed and guide air around your wheel.
To bring the weight down, around 100g per wheelset, we have changed from solely using Toray T700 carbon fiber as we did in our FL series, to a mix of Toray T700 and T800. The new layup was the best way to keep all our previous strengths and allow a lighter weight.
We have also beefed up the braking track. Our FL series of rims could withstand temperatures of 240°. Our new design can deal with temperatures of up to 300°, perfect for Alpine descents in summer.
You can then pick from either a set of DT Swiss 240S hubs or 350S hubs to be laced to our wheel rim. The 240S hubs are the lighter option, and the 350S are the more affordable option. Regardless of choice, you will be getting the renown DT Swiss quality.
Lacing your choice of DT Swiss hub to our Aero rim, we will use Sapim CX-Ray spokes. We love the aero CX-Ray spokes as they perfectly balance low weight and high strength.

Wide Rim Tech

25mm rim wide creates a better, more stable support, while the shape of the tire and rim together creates regular, stable air flow, in short, more aerodynamics, less attrition. provides an ideal basis for 25/28mm tires, the sizes currently popular.

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

Sapim Secure Lock Nipples

Sapim Secure Lock nipple is a locking mechanism that prevents nipples from untightening.Secure Lock nipple can achieve a stable and well defi ned deformation on the thread. Each nipple has an additional locking resistance of 18 +/- 3 cNm.
