AERO 50

A couple of years back, ICAN engineers dreamed up a winning carbon wheelset design. They called it Aero FL because it was faster and lighter than any wheelset they had created in the past. But recently these same engineers went back to the drawing board to create the “Son of FLâ€?which is lighter by 61.1grammes at the front, with a saving of 65.5 grammes for the rear wheel. Total mass is 1370 grams, compared with the 1496 grammes of the FL 50. The loss of some 126 grammes cannot be sniffed at, in a sport where fewer grammes or split seconds may decide victory â€?especially in a final sprint or on a tough mountain pass. The Aero 50 rims measure a deep 50mm for drag-cutting aerodynamic effect, and the stable 25mm-wide rim takes clinchers â€?or smooth-rolling tubeless tires, which offer greater puncture resistance. The carbon cloth used to mould the superlight rims is a blend of Toray T700 and T800. The rest of the wheel came under serious attention by our engineers, to trim weight and maintain strength. The hubs are lighter than the FL models, and are ready for a Shimano 10 or 11 cassette at the rear. The Sapim CX-Ray butted aero spokes are laced according to purpose: two-cross for the extra strain at the rear on the drive side, and radial elsewhere â€?18 spokes on the front wheel and 24 on the rear. The superlight Aero 50 can be delivered from our European warehouse, at a very affordable price. And we’ll throw in skewers, carbon brake pads and rim tapes with clinchers.

Wide Rim Tech

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.
